Dr. JL Moreno, the creator of Psychodrama and the man who coined the term Group Psychotherapy, believed that the sign of a healthy group is that the sociometry is always shifting.

Course Description

When issues of conflict, transference and countertransference go unaddressed in group, stagnation and entrenchment occur, making it difficult to shift. In this didactic and experiential presentation, participants will be educated on techniques to help suss out the underlying structure of a group – including the impact of transference, countertransference and unaddressed conflict – and utilizing sociometry and psychodrama techniques, attendees will be taught specific action techniques to help the group therapist shift from stuckness back into flow.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will be able to:

  1. Identify two effective sociometric techniques to reveal the sociostatis in a group.

  2. Identify two effective sociometric techniques to help shift transference in a group.

  3. Identify two effective psychodramatic techniques to help shift conflict in group.

  4. Identify two effectives psychodramatic techniques to help shift the group psychotherapist’s countertransference with group members.

3 CEUs will be given for attendance.
